JAMMU, Jan 14: In connection with observance of Nirvan Diwas of Swami Shiv Ram Ji Koul, Jalali (Shivananda) founder Mahant of Umanagri (Brariangan) a Hawan was solemnized by Uma Bhagwati Asthapan Trust at Sharda Peeth Bantalab near here under the presidentship of Girdhari Lal Pandit.
A large number of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu thronged the Sharda Peeth temple to take part in the religious function and paid obeisance to the great saint.
The Hawan started with Kalash Poojan and culminated with Puran Ahooti followed by Prashad Vitran.
The night long Bhajan Kirtan was also held and continued till next day afternoon.
President of the Trust highlighted the religious significance of Uma Nagri shrine and threw light on the spiritual life of Swami Shivananda.
