SRINAGAR, Jan 14: Police in Budgam seized illicit timber worth lakhs in Atipora Sholipora today.
Authorities reported that the Budgam police station received information from reliable sources that one person, namely Reyaz Ahmad Itoo, son of Abdul Karim Itoo and a resident of Atipora Sholipora, had illegally dumped acquired timber at his home.
“Acting swiftly, a police party from Police Station Budgam raided the said house and seized illicit timber comprising 88 swans measuring 26.93 cubic feet. However, the accused managed to flee from the house, and efforts are underway to apprehend him.”
Accordingly, a case under FIR No. 15/2024, citing relevant sections of the law, has been registered at Police Station Budgam, and further investigation has been set into motion.
