29 bovines rescued, 4 smugglers arrested

UDHAMPUR, Jan 14: Udhampur Police rescued 29 bovines and seized four vehicles used for the smuggling besides arresting the accused persons.
According to the police report, a team of Police Post Tikri foiled three bovine smuggling bids in which 25 bovines were rescued and three vehicles; Truck, Tata Yodha and Mahindra Bolero bearing registration number JK21D-0182, JK14J-5106 and JK19A-1758 respectively were seized from Tikri nakapoint.
Three accused persons namely Irshad Ahmed, son of Mohd Yaqoob of Anantnag, Mohd Tariq son of Mohd Aslam of Jakhani, Udhampur and Muskan Ali son of Sher Ali of Jandrah, Jammu, were arrested on the spot.
In this regard, three cases FIRs under relevant sections of law were registered in Police Station Rehambal.
In another case, one bovine smuggling bid was foiled and four bovines were rescued by the Police team of Police Post Roundomail.
Bovine smuggler namely Mohd Ajaz, son of Shab Din of Gujjar Nagar, Jammu was arrested and the vehicle bearing registration number JK21F-3835, in which the bovines were being smuggled, was also seized. A case FIR under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Udhampur.
