JAMMU, Jan 15 : The 150th Foundation Day of the Meteorological Department, was celebrated with great enthusiasm here today.

On the occasion a grand program was organized at the local office of the Meteorological Department. The program was presided over by local in-charge officer S.C. Sharma.
During the programme, the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bantalab and May Fair School, Lakshmi Puram, Bantalab were informed about the work being done by the Meteorological Department and various types of weather equipment used by the Department. The students showed their keen interest.
Officer-in-charge, S. C Sharma gave information about the remarkable progress in the field of weather in the 150 years of the Meteorological Department.
He said that the Meteorological Department will remain dedicated to serving the nation in future also.
The Meteorological Department is providing its services in air, agriculture, marine and many other areas of the country. There has been a significant increase in the accuracy of forecasts made by the Meteorological Department over the last several years.
