UDHAMPUR, Jan 15: In two different cases police today arrested two narco smugglers, recovered Poppy straw and Heroin from their possession.
One narco smuggler was arrested when a police team from PS Udhampur led by SHO inspector Raghubir Choudhary, during routine checking at Jakhani, recovered 10 kg 460 grams of Poppy straw like substance from a vehicle (truck) bearing Registration No PB06E 2639.
The arrested driver has been identified as Omkar Singh son of Kapoor Singh of R.S Pura, Jammu.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 28/2024 Under Sections 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered in PS Udhampur and further investigation is going on.
In another case, the Police team of PS Udhampur during patrolling noticed the movement of one suspicious person namely Sourav Bandral son of Sansar Chand of Chenani Udhampur who was directed to stop for checking. On frisking, 3.80 grams of heroin (chitta) like Contraband substance was recovered from his possession and the accused was arrested on spot.
On this, a case vide FIR No. 24/2024 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act stands registered in P/S Udhampur and further investigation was set into probe.
