JAMMU, Jan 15: Bhartiya Postal Employees Association (BPEA), J&K Postal Circle has called upon the Central Government for early restoration of Old Pension Scheme (OPS).
The BPEA in its 2nd Circle Conference held in Jammu and inaugurated by M P Singh (All India vice president, Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh BMS) stressed upon the Government for restoration of Old Pension Scheme for the larger interest of employees.
Describing the New Pension Scheme implemented for the Central Government employees with effect from 1st of January 2004 as discriminatory, the speakers demanded that the Central Government must think for the social security of its employees.
They also demanded constitution of 8th Pay Commission, improving the work conditions of the postal employees and other welfare measures in unison with the administration
On the occasion, Circle body of BPEA Gr C J&K Postal Circle was also elected with Karan Kapoor as president, Ishan Gupta as Circle secretary, Dalip Gumbal as Circle secretary (Administration Wing) and Ankush Badikulia as Circle secretary (RMS).
BPEA also unveiled calendar of 2024. Harbans Chaudhary (senior vice president, BMS J&K) also spoke on the occasion and briefed the participants about various activities BMS is conducting in Jammu and Kashmir.
