JAMMU, Jan 15: Police in Bishnah and Nowabad areas here claimed today that they have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 18 grams of heroin from their possession.
A police spokesperson said that a team of Police Station Bishnah led by SHO concerned while on naka duty at Chorli area rounded up a suspected woman later identified as Bholi Devi of Chorli, Bishnah.
On search of the woman, he said, 12 grams of heroin was recovered.
The accused has been accordingly arrested and booked in case FIR number 05/2024 under sections 8/21/22 of t he NDPS Act registered at Police Station Bishnah and further investigation taken up, said the police spokesperson.
Meanwhile, another team of Police Station Nowabad led by SHO concerned, while on patrolling duty near Construction Power Grid area rounded up a suspected person identified as Liaqat of Dansal, Jammu at present Belicharana.
On search of the suspect, police recovered 6 grams of heroin. He too has been arrested and booked in case FIR number 08/2024 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Nowabad and further investigation taken up.
