Srinagar, Jan 16: Police in Kulgam today attached property belonging to a notorious drug peddler under the NDPS Act.
The peddler has been identified as Barkatullah Mir, son of Mohd Abdullah Mir, a resident of Buchroo, Kulgam.
The attachment, police said, has been made Under Section 68-F (2) of the NDPS Act 1985.
The property that has been attached, according to the police, is an under-construction house on 10 Marla of land bearing survey No. 622.
“The property was identified as illegally acquired during the course of the investigation/enquiry conducted by Kulgam Police.”
The police stated that the property was prima-facie acquired from the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by the owner.
“The said drug peddler is involved in Case FIR number 69/2021 of Police Station Kulgam and FIR number 03/2018 of Police Station Yaripora,” the police added.
