SAMBA, Jan 16 : Under the guidance of SSP Samba, Benam Tosh, police achieved major success on anti-heroin front today, arrested three hardened heroin suppliers, recovered ‘Desi Katta’, heroin and cash from their possession in the jurisdiction of Police Post (PP) Supwal and Police Station (PS) Samba.
The arrested heroin suppliers have been identified as Abdul Habib alias Beem, son of Mau Din of Nanake Chack, Badheri, Samba, Basharat Ali alias Bishu, son of Raham Ali of Barian Supwal and Mohammad Sabar alias Pallu, son of Shab Ali of Barian Supwal, Samba.
While Abdul Habib alias Beem has been arrested in case FIR No. 17/2024 U/S 8/21/22/25/27-A/29 NDPS Act, 3/25 Arms Act registered at Police Station (PS) Samba through Police Post (PP) Supwal, Basharat Ali alias Bishu and Mohammad Sabar alias Pallu have been arrested in case FIR No.18/2024 U/S 8/21/22/27-A/29 NDPS Act registered at Police Station (PS) Samba. Further investigation is underway.
Police said one ‘Desi Katta’, heroin valuing rupees 16,000 approximately and cash amounting to Rs 7200 has been recovered from the possession of dreaded heroin supplier, Abdul Habib alias Beem, whereas heroin valuing Rs 7000 approximately and cash amounting to Rs 2500 has been recovered from the possession of Basharat Ali alias Bishu and Mohammad Sabar alias Pallu who have been caught red-handed while selling heroin (‘Chitta’). The police also seized the motorcycle.
Initial investigation revealed that the hardcore heroin smugglers used to supply heroin to the youth of Samba and adjoining areas, especially in the morning and evening hours, police said.
The hardened heroin suppliers were arrested by police party of Police Post (PP) Supwal led by in charge PP Supwal while conducting patrolling near Basantar Khad and Devak Khad falling in the jurisdiction of PP Supwal in two separate incidents and completed legal formalities in the presence of SHO Samba, DySP, Executive Magistrate 1st Class and independent witnesses. The investigation of both the cases are being monitored by Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.
Earlier, in the year 2022 also, heroin supplier Abdul Habib alias Beem was arrested for drug peddling in the jurisdiction of PS Samba and a case FIR No. 123/2022 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered against him which was proved, challaned and is still under trial, said SSP Samba Benam Tosh.
