DC conducts extensive tour of Arnas, inspects developmental works

REASI, Jan 17: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Vishesh Paul Mahajan today undertook a comprehensive day-long tour of Arnas to assess the progress of various ongoing developmental works and mega projects across the district.
During the tour, the DC focused on inspecting the pace of works undertaken by Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), works being executed by Rand B and the mining leases.
During the tour, the DC scrutinized the advancement of the Water Supply Scheme (WSS) in Arnas, with an estimated cost of Rs 744.33 lakh. This included detailed examinations of the pipe network, civil works, Dugwell and allied works costing Rs 130 lakh, and 392 Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs). The DC also visited the WSS works at Kanthan Dharmatha, projected at Rs 947.46 lakh, emphasizing the importance of timely completion.
DC also inspected mining block and directed DMO and Tehsildars to demarcate and ensure to put in place systems to curb any attempt of illegal mining.
He inspected the under-construction Degree College building at Dharmari and the Narloo Bridge, issuing directives to executing agencies to ensure the completion of the works by or before February 28, 2024.
Expressing a sense of urgency, DC directed concerned departments to expedite work, emphasizing timely completion by or before 28th of February 2024.
He urged executing agencies to mobilize resources effectively and achieve project milestones within the stipulated time frame. The DC underscored the need for a mission-oriented approach to maximize tangible results on the ground.
Other presents along with DDC were XEn PWD, JJM, Tehsildars, Officers of GREF and other officers posted in the area.
