JK Teachers Joint Action Committee holds convention, raises issues

UDHAMPUR, Jan 17: Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) held one day convention of teachers on ” Role Of Teachers To Shape Society Rich In Moral Values “, here today wherein Director School Education Jammu Ashok Kumar Sharma was the chief guest and Director Finance Revenue Ashok Thukaan was the guest of honour.
The convention was organised under the leadership of JKTJAC President Vinod Sharma and District President Lekh Raj Parihar.
On the occasion, a memorandum comprising issues of the teachers was also submitted to the chief guest. In the memorandum, JKTJAC has demanded conversion of RRETs to Teachers Grade II/ III who are waiting for the same for a long time; transition of Teachers Grade II to substantive posts as per Government Order; regularisation of ReTs who have successfully completed their 5 years ReT period; release of arrears of Teachers and Masters, restoration of Old Pension Scheme; Transfer Policy in favour of teachers appointed under ReT scheme, etc.
Addressing the teachers, Director School Education Jammu stressed for constructive role of teachers to make all round development of the students in schools. He assured to redress each and every issue raised by the JKTJAC leadership in the convention.
Earlier, speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma stressed for approach of teachers to inculcate moral values in the society by playing a vital role.
JKTJAC Chairman Saleem Sagar demanded issuance of mutual transfer lists of pending districts and DPC list of Teachers to Masters.
General Secretary Najam Jafri raised the issue of Earned Leave in favour of teachers engaged for summer/ winter camps and for other duties during summer/winter vacation.
Provincial President Rajesh Jamwal demanded that training of teachers by DIETs should be at District/Tehsil headquarters rather than at DIET offices. He also demanded clearance of pending Mid Day Meal dues.
Among those, who also spoke on the occasion, included Reyaz-ur Rehman, Aaftab Malik, Surjeet Singh Chib, Rajesh Jamwal, Sham Sharma, Sukhdev Singh Sumbria, Sukesh Khajuria, Ashok Seth, Subash Chander, Khazan Singh, Malik Ashraf , Ghulam Nabi, Naseer Ahmed Butt, Javed Bali, Lekh Raj Parihar, Sajad Malik, Ravinder Manhas, Balwan Singh, Hari Lal Nag, Sayed Shahnawaz and others.
