TOKOYO, (Japan ), Jan 17: Romesh Khajuria, Chairman, Wool & Woolens Export Promotion Council (WWEPC), Government of India, Ministry of Textiles said that India has a lot to offer Japan industry in Bharat Tex 2024 to be held in New Delhi from 26 to 29 February this year.
Khajuria while addressing the business community of Japan in Tokyo in his welcome address during inaugural ceremony of Road Show on Bharat Tex 2024, organised by WWEPC in collaboration with Embassy of India, Tokyo and Japan India Industry Promotion Association (JIIPA) said the road show in Tokyo to showcase the upcoming mega textile event Bharat Tex 2024. The event, held at Belle Salle Shibuya Garden, witnessed an enthusiastic gathering of around 100 Japanese business representatives, eager to explore the incredible textiles of India.
Sibi George, Ambassador of India to Japan, graced the occasion, underscoring the significance of the event in strengthening India-Japan textile ties. Debjani Chakrabarti, Minister (Economic & Commerce), in the Embassy of India in Japan also graced the event.
Romesh Khajuria, Chairman of WWEPC, in his address highlighted the immense potential of the Indian Textile Industry.
Khajuria said Bharat Tex 2024 will be the largest event in textiles sector in 2024 have around 3,500+ exhibitors, 3,000+ overseas buyers, 40,000+ trade visitors, 2200,000+ sq ft exhibition area, 50+ knowledge sessions and many more .
He said “We are here to echo the call of our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi emphasizing the “5 Fs” vision Farm to Fiber, Fiber to Factory, Factory to Fashion, Fashion to Foreign. This comprehensive approach underscores our dedication in creating a sustainable and transparent supply chain, ensuring that every step in the process adheres to the highest standards of quality and ethics’’, he added.
Prashant Godghate, Chairman, JIIPA, presented a comprehensive overview of Bharat Tex 2024, outlining the event’s scale, scope, and the vast opportunities it presents for both Indian and Japanese businesses within the textile sector.
Sibi George extended a warm invitation to Japanese importers and buyers to visit Bharat Tex 2024.
