DODA, Jan 18: Police here today worked out two snatching cases wherein mobile phone and cash was snatched and arrested three snatchers involved in the crime besides recovering snatched phone and cash from them.
Police sources informed that on January 16, a complaint was lodged by one Ibrahim, son of Noor Din Gujjar, resident of Chatroo at Police Station Doda that some unknown boys sitting beside him in a vehicle snatched cash amounting Rs. 10,000 from him near Dessa Chowk, Doda and fled away when the complainant was travelling in a vehicle while on way to GMC Doda for medical check-up.
On receipt of the complaint, a case in FIR number 10/2024 Under relevant Sections of law was registered at Police Station Doda and investigation was started by PSI Aman Sharma.
On the basis of cultivated sources and technical leads, Police arrested the snatchers identified as Yasir alias Thopa and Rafiq Ahmed alias Kachra, both residents of Doda and the cash of Rs. 10,000 was recovered from them.
Further investigation of the case was going on.
Similarly, in another case of FIR number 11/2024 registered at Police Station Doda on the complaint by one Tariq Hussain, son of Mohd Sharief, resident of Asrarabad, Doda that on January 16, 2024, one Wasim Ahmed, son of Shamas Din, resident of Kastigarh snatched mobile phone from him and fled away while the complainant was at Bus Stand Doda.
During investigation PSI Aman Sharma, Incharge Police Post DH Doda arrested the mobile phone snatcher and recovered the snatched phone from him. Investigation of the case was going on.
The accused arrested by Police in these cases were involved in number of thefts in the past and more recoveries are expected from them.
