JAMMU, Jan 18: Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K unit here today started a campaign against the sale of liquor near educational institutions and religious places in Jammu.
The campaign was started from the busy Parade Chowk area near Women College Parade and special talks were held with College students, nearby shopkeepers and common people regarding liquor shops functioning near Parade College and Shiv Temple.

Sahni said that J&K is the land of saints where the world famous shrines of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji and Amarnath exist while the Jammu city is termed as the city of temples which has been converted into the city of liquor today.
He said that such shops have been identified in areas like Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur etc.
“We will take opinions of the people around these shops every second day during this campaign to stop liquor sale near religious places and educational institutes,” the Shiv Sena leader maintained.
