SSP Traffic (Rural) seeks public support for ensuring no road mishaps

VIJAYPUR, Jan 19: SSP Traffic Rural Jammu, Vinay Kumar today sought public cooperation in ensuring no violation of traffic rules and smooth flow of vehicles for no road mishaps.
Addressing public and students during a traffic awareness programme, here today, he stressed on fitness of the vehicle and safe driving to avoid road accidents. He advised that while purchasing a vehicle, people should provide valid/functional contact numbers/residential address to the registration/transferring authorities so that they can link their contact number on VAHAN/Parivahan portal for future facilitation.
He also informed that in case of failure to clear the e-challan, online option are available to see the details of their vehicle on parivahan/VAHAN portal and the same must be settled for avoiding seizure of the vehicle.
The SSP Traffic particularly advised the students and youth to follow Traffic Rules for their own safety as well as safety of general public to avoid any untoward incident. He also advised the students not to indulge in stunt biking/ overspeeding/rash/dangerous driving, as this can prove fatal for them and their family and also advised to use helmet while driving two wheelers and seat belt while driving four wheelers.
Dy SP Traffic Samba-Kathua Javed Iqbal Tabassam and jurisdictional DTIs/SOs (T), were present in the awareness programme, which was organized at Baba Balak Nath HSS by MD Dimple Sharma.
