Workshop on ‘Arduino for Physics Experiments’ held at SMVDU

JAMMU, Jan 19: An ICT based two- day workshop on “Arduino for Physics Experiments” was held at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University.
The workshop was organized by School of Physics, SMVDU in collaboration with IIT Bombay. The workshop participants comprised of faculty members, technical staff, Ph D Research scholars and students from science and engineering disciplines from the institution.
The main objective of this workshop was to introduce the use of Arduino to the participants of various schools in the institution which enabled them to learn the use of this versatile platform to explore and perform desired Physics experiment.
The workshop included lectures and hands-on-experiments. A number of Arduino hardware demonstrations, Arduino on cloud and CircuitJS were introduced by resource persons from Free & Open Source Software for Education (FOSSEE) project under the leadership of Prof Kannan M Moudgalya, Head of Dept of Chemical Engineering, IIT Bombay.
The participants also came across quizzes, Assignments and discussions at various intervals all through the two days of the workshop. The coordinators of the event were Dr Pankaj Biswas and Dr Jitendra Sharma, Assistant Professors from School of Physics and Dinesh Sharma, the audio/ video coordinator, SMVDU. The resource persons were Rajesh Kushalkar along with his other team members who conducted hands-on-sessions on Arduino programming, Arduino on Cloud and CiruitJS.
