JAMMU, Jan 22: All J&K +2 Lecturers’ Forum today held a UT Level meet in virtual mode under the chairmanship of RS Salathia while President of the forum Pardeep Singh Rakwal presided over the meet.
The meet was also virtually attended by leaders from Kashmir unit of the Forum, including Fida Gulzar, General Secretary, Rifat Almas, Chief Advisor and others.
R S Salathia and Pardeep Singh Rakwal briefed the Forum regarding their meet with Secretary School Education, Piyush Singla and Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo.
The meeting, in one voice urged Piyush Singla to regularise all I/C lecturers at the earliest. The meet passed a resolution that the regularisation of Incharge lecturers is the first goal of the Forum.
The issue of grant of Assured Career Progression (ACP) was also discussed at length and Piyush Singla, Secretary SED was requested to concede this long pending demand as this has resulted into long stagnation in absence of any provision of Time Bound Promotions or Running Grade to the officers of +2 cadre. The meet demanded elevation of Sr Lecturers to Principals.
In order to provide practical knowledge to the students, Pardeep Koul, District President Kishtwar and Rifat Almas, Chief Advisor Kashmir unit said that the laboratories need to be strengthened. They also said that the Lab Assistants/Lab Bearers/ Gas-men are not well-versed with the knowledge of laboratories. They requested Singla, Secretary SED to address this issue by providing training to Lab Assistants/ Lab Bearers & Gas-men at District Level by involving respective Chief Education Officers of every district so that scientific temperament is created and the NEP 2020 is implemented effectively.
A resolution in this regard was moved by Koul & Almas which was unanimously passed with voice vote. Koul & Almas also demanded reforms in Board examination including conduct and evaluation part.
Parveen Akhter, Ghar Singh, Dr Sushma Rajput, Malik Gh Nabi, Krishan Tickoo, Ramesh Kumar Padroo , Ravinder Singh and other leaders of the Forum also spoke in the meet.
