SRINAGAR, Jan 23: Cracking down on illegal mineral extraction and transportation, police in Baramulla today seized four vehicles and arrested four drivers.
Authorities reported that a police party, under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla and SDPO Tangmarg, along with assistance from SHO PS Kunzer and IC PP Delina, confiscated one excavator and three tractors.
The arrests were made in connection with the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Juhama and Darpora Kunzer, Baramulla.
The accused drivers were identified as Fayaz Ahmad Sofi, son of Ghulam Mohiuddin and Parvaiz Ahmad Sofi, son of Abdul Rehman both residents of Juhama, Baramulla, Tariq Ahmad Bhat, son of Bashir Ahmad, a resident of Devpora, and Waseem Ahmad Reshi, son of Abdul Ahad, a resident of Pariswani.
Cases under relevant sections of the law have been registered in respective police stations.
