DODA, Jan 25: Police here today booked a habitual and notorious peddler of narcotic substances under PSA.
Police sources informed that the narco-peddler, Yasir Ahmed alias Thopa, son of Abdul Majeed, resident of Sadiqabad, Doda has been booked under PSA for his active involvement in a series of criminal activities of grave nature like peddling of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances etc and he was lodged in District Jail Bhaderwah by the order of District Magistrate Doda.
The peddler was incessantly involved in selling narcotic substances to the youth of the area and he was spoiling future of the young people.
A number of FIRs under NDPS Act were registered against him at Police Station Doda and being a habitual offender and dealer of black trade his activities held a potential to create extreme law and order situation and serious threat to the local youth of Doda.
A handout of Police Department stated that his detention under PSA will definitely act as deterrence to the criminals and drug smugglers still a large and will save precious lives of a number of innocent youth of the locality.
