Cardamom weakens on subdued demand

NEW DELHI, Feb 8: Cardamom prices fell by Rs 10 per kg in the national capital today due to subdued demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.
Elsewhere, other spices remained steady on scattered demand.
Cardamom small varieties such as chitridar, colour robin, bold and extra bold fell by Rs 10 each to conclude at Rs 650-750, Rs 600-700, Rs 650-700 and Rs 800-900 per kg, respectively.
The following are today’s quotations per quintal:
Ajwain 13,500-18,500, black pepper (per kg) 520-650, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,000-1,090 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,150-1,270.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 650-750, cardamom (colour robin) 600-700, cardamom bold 650-700, cardamom extra (bold) 800-900 and cloves (kg) 850-920. (AGENCIES)
