UDHAMPUR, Jan 28: Ranbir Singh Pathania, Spokesperson BJP and former MLA Ramnagar, has said that the political narrative of J&K changed post 5th of August 2019.
Firstly, it was a big affront to the Pakistan as well as other elements and forces that were out and out to foment troubles on Indian soil. Bharat led by Narendra Modi and Amit Shah outsmarted the moves by Pak by creating a tighter noose on the militancy and those waging war against the country,” he said while addressing a series of public meetings in G S Banj, Mottu, Dhema villages of Udhampur and Kacher, Ucha Pind, Drammani area of Kathua.
Pathania said that the scrapping of Article 370 granted greater freedom to J&K on all spheres and fundamentally altered the political landscape of Jammu Kashmir. “It ended a string of anti-people laws and practices in J&K. This was a step towards greater integration with the rest of India. With the reorganization, the governance structure shifted from a State with its own constitution to a Union Territory directly administered by the Central government. This centralization of power led to a change in the perception of political authority in the region, with decisions now being made more centrally,” he added.
He said that after 5th Aug, 2019, J&K significantly transformed its political narrative by reshaping its constitutional status, power dynamics, demographic considerations, security perceptions, and international standing.
“It also marked a significant shift in the security approach. There was a heightened emphasis on neutralizing militant groups and controlling cross-border infiltration. The focus shifted towards a more assertive counter-terrorism approach and a reevaluation of the region’s governance structure, profoundly impacting the security dynamics and political landscape. Anti-national forces have been pushed to the wall with least space to act and create fixes for the State as well as society,” claimed the BJP leader.
Prominent among those who attended the meetings, included Mohan Lal Sharma, Capt Gopal Singh Mankotia, Ved Pal Sharma, Shiv Ram, Romesh Gupta, Manoj Verma, Anil Sharma, Bikram Singh and others.
