JAMMU, Jan 28: The Jammu and Kashmir Police, under the leadership of Director General of Police (DGP) RR Swain, reaffirmed their commitment to the safety of the people.
DGP Swain flagged off a road safety awareness rally at Gulshan Ground Jammu, emphasizing the collaborative efforts of the J&K Police, Jammu Three Sixty, District Administration, and the Transport Department in promoting road safety.
Addressing participants, police officers, and personnel, DGP Swain commended the organizers for their initiative, directly contributing to the safety of road users, including drivers. He also appreciated citizens for supporting such initiatives in the broader interest of the community.
The top cop highlighted the avoidable loss of lives in road accidents, emphasizing the painful situation when people are left handicapped. He stressed the need for multiple stakeholders to come together to address this issue.
Assuring continued efforts, DGP Swain stated that the J&K Police, in collaboration with other stakeholders, especially the license-issuing authority, will analyze the causes of accidents.
“Regulatory changes will be implemented where necessary to enhance road safety,” he said as he expressed confidence that, with good intentions and sincerity, the situation will improve.
Vivek Mahajan, founder of Jammu Three Sixty, expressed gratitude to the police chief for the support in organizing the rally. He thanked participants and sponsors for their involvement.
The event saw the presence of ADGP Jammu Zone Anand Jain, DIG Traffic Jammu Shridhar Patil, SSP Jammu Vinod Kumar, SSP Traffic Jammu Faisal Qureshi, AIG (T&P) PHQ Manoj Kumar Pandith, and officers from Traffic police and District Police.
