Notorious thief held under PSA in Samba

SAMBA, Jan 28: Police in this District claimed today they have apprehended and incarcerated a notorious thief under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA).
According to police, Mohammad Irshad alias Shadu of Teli Basti, Bari Brahamana, was involved in over 20 different cases registered at different police station.
The detention order of the criminal under the PSA was issued by District Magistrate Samba, Abhishek Sharma, police said.
Operating as a self-styled commander of thieves, Mohammad Irshad posed a significant threat to public order and peace, orchestrating a network of thieves under his influence.
SSP Samba, Benam Tosh compiled and submitted a comprehensive dossier to DM Samba, Abhishek Sharma, urging the issuance of a PSA detention order against Irshad. Acting promptly on the submission, DM Sharma directed the detention of Irshad to ensure public safety.
Executing the order efficiently, SHO Police Station Samba Daljit Singh, under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Samba Bhisham Dubey and Additional SSP Samba Surinder Choudhary, detained Irshad and lodged him in District Jail Kathua.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh, affirmed the commitment of the police to safeguard people’s property, emphasizing the stringent legal actions against thieves in Samba district.
With the arrest of Shadu, the police aim to curtail further theft incidents and secure the property of residents across the district. Over the last year, Samba Police have arrested 190 thieves, reflecting their proactive stance in maintaining law and order.
