3 narco smugglers held with heroin

KISHTWAR, Jan 28: Police here today arrested three notorious smugglers of narcotic substances and recovered 20 gm heroin like substance from them.
Sharing details in this regard SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal said on a specific tip and with leads from previous investigations, special Naka was established at Malipath, Kishtwar which was headed by Inspector Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday, SHO Police Station Kishtwar under the supervision of DySP Hqrs, Dr. Ishan Gupta.
During checking of vehicles and pedestrians at Naka, cops stopped a white car of Scorpio make with registration number JK17A-6891 coming from Shalimar and moving towards Kishtwar carrying three persons.
On searching the vehicle and the travellers in it, cops recovered heroin like substance weighing 20 gram and all the three persons travelling in the car were arrested on the spot and the vehicle was seized.
The arrested persons were identified as Asif Kabir Zargar (driver), son of Abdul Kabir Zargar, resident of Semna Colony, Kishtwar (about 6 gm of heroin-like substance was recovered from him); Arif Hussain (co-driver), son of Hatim Ali, resident of Shakti Nagar, Kishtwar (7 gm heroin-like substance was recovered from him) and Tariq Irshad, son of Irshad Ahmed Zargar, resident of Zewar, Kishtwar (7 gm heroin-like substance was recovered from him).
In this regard a case in FIR number 34/2024 U/S’s 08/21/22/ 25/29 NDPS was registered at Police Station Kishtwar and investigations started.
