JAMMU, Jan 28: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Dr Vinod Kumar, has attached five police personnel, including an incharge police post, after a thief managed to escape from the custody of police on Thursday night.
The SSP Jammu has also ordered a departmental inquiry against the attached cops and appointed an SP ranked officer to investigate into the matter.
Pertinently, a thief, Mohammad Waqar of Rajouri, lodged in the lock-up in a theft case, managed to escape from the custody of the police by giving a slip to Narwal Police.
“While all the responsible cops have been attached on Thursday night itself, an SP ranked officer has also been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting a detailed inquiry into the matter,” SSP Jammu, Dr Vinod Kumar said.
