NPP to expose Govt in Assembly : Harsh

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Feb 8: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) would vigorously and vociferously highlight in the Assembly the issues of non-governance, non-performance, regional bias, fractured work culture, lack of accountability and transparency, fiscal indiscipline, patronized corruption and poor Govt deliverance with utter failure on its part.
This was decided in the Panthers Legislature Party meet held today under the Chairmanship of Harsh Dev Singh, leader of NPP in Assembly and attended by Balwant Singh Mankotia MLA, Yash Paul Kundal MLA and  Syed Rafiq Shah MLC.
Harshdev Singh said that the Govt has been high on rhetoric and low on delivery with all its tall claims having fallen flat. He said despite liberal central funding and a plethora of centrally sponsored schemes, the delivery on the ground has been negligible.
The centrally sponsored schemes have failed to achieve the desired objectives and stipulated targets and the State has been declared tail ender in their implementation.
JKNPP would take up the issue of bias against Jammu in the matter of tourism promotion and seek a package of at least Rs. 500 crore for the development of Mansar, Surinsar, Dalsar and other lakes and water bodies of Jammu region. Like-wise adequate funds and priority treatment needs to be announced for Mubarak-Mandi Cable Car  project and River Tawi Conservation and Development Project along with its Artificial Lake so as to give a fillip to religious tourism in the city of Temples.
Issues of Govt. employees and early settlement of their claims would be another issue to be raised by JKNPP.
The farmers whose crops and houses got damaged during the heavy rains in the past have not been compensated. The same shall be raised and adequate ex-gratia to the affected farmers ensured.
Jammu city is the destination for religious pilgrims and is suffering due to traffic congestion, dilapidated roads, shabby lanes and drains and lack of development.
