JAMMU, Jan 30: Police in Bishnah area today attached the property of an alleged smuggler of narcotic substances under NDPS Act.
Cops at Police Station Bishnah got information regarding the smuggler/peddler of intoxicants who was involved in trade of narcotic substances for a long time and special team of cops from Police Station Bishnah was constituted which was led by SHO Bishnah, Inspector Abid Hussain.
After strenuous efforts and with the help of CCTV footages of the area, cops finally arrested the narco-smuggler Baldev Raj alias Raju, son of Kalu Ram, resident of Kothey Bulanday, Bishnah.
As per the handout of Police Department, Raju was previously also arrested in different cases and was presently detained under PIT NDPS and lodged in District Jail Ambphalla for commission of offences punishable under Sections 8/21/22 of NDPS Act 1985 and Excise Act.
Moreover during investigation it came to fore that the accused was possessing immoveable property of two residential houses at village Kothey Bulanday in Bishnah which was raised from illegal earnings of Narcotic trade in contravention of provisions of NDPS Act.
Acting tough the Police seized the property of the accused under provisions of Section 68-F of NDPS Act 1985.
Further investigations of the case were going on.
