JAMMU, Jan 30: In a function organised by Gandhi Global Family here today, services of veteran social-peace activist and trade unionist, Abdul Hafeez Fani were recognised by Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha.
Fani has rendered outstanding contributions towards the nation and has served masses for the last five decades and is a champion of peace and harmony. During turmoil he played a very significant role for communal harmony in Bhadarwah and Chenab valley by organising peace marches and inter-community dialogues.
It is pertinent to mention here that Fani retired as ZEO in 2009 and was bestowed with several awards and honours including State Best Teacher Award in 1995 by the then Governor, General K.V Krishna Rao in recognition of his outstanding services towards the society.
