DGP sanctions Rs 1.06 cr retirement gift

JAMMU, Jan 31: The Director General of Police (DGP), RR Swain, today sanctioned a retirement gift of Rs 1.06 crore in favour of 106 personnel who retired from service today after attaining superannuation or voluntary retirement.
The DGP has also sanctioned welfare/parting gift of Rs 3.6 lakh in favour of 9 SPOs who have attained the age of 60.
A statement said that a retirement gift of Rs 1 lakh each has been sanctioned out of the Contributory Police Welfare Fund in favour of four gazetted officers, 72 non-gazetted officers, 20 lower subordinates, and 8 followers of different wings of the police.
It said that a welfare/partying gift of Rs 40000 each has also been sanctioned in favour of 9 SPOs who had been disengaged from the rolls of SPOs after attaining the age of 60.
Pertinently, the retirement gift is sanctioned for the police personnel as a token of appreciation for their services rendered to the department.
