JAMMU, Jan 31: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, today highlighted the vital role of NGOs in addressing societal challenges, emphasizing their ability to complement Government initiatives.
During his visit to NGO Gracious Givers, led by Nidhi Gupta Abrol, Gupta applauded the organization’s noteworthy decision to provide meals to the needy at an astonishingly low cost of Rs 10 per meal.
Gupta’s visit to Gracious Givers was part of the Shakti Bandhan Programme, aimed at collaborating with NGOs and Self Help Groups for public welfare.
Organized by BJP District President Rekha Mahajan, the visit showcased the impactful work of NGOs in the realm of social welfare.
Expressing appreciation for NGOs, Gupta acknowledged their role in transforming the lives of those facing poverty and other life challenges.
He underscored the agility, innovation and community-centric approaches that NGOs bring to address pressing issues effectively.
The former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta stressed the potential for synergy between political leadership and grassroots organizations, emphasizing the need for partnerships to create comprehensive and responsive social welfare solutions.
The visit also included party members Ayodhya Gupta, Akash Chopra, Pushpinder Charak, Divya Jain, Rajni, Sarojini, and others.
Gupta later visited the Chhani Rama handicrafts center, commending stakeholders for maintaining product quality and proficient operations.
He urged increased efforts to perfect and market J&K’s handicrafts more widely, enhancing business vibrancy.
The presence of Rashmi Kapoor, AHTO in Assistant Director Handicrafts, Jammu office, and Rubina Anjum from JCI HTC Channi Rama added significance to the visit, highlighting collaborative efforts in promoting and sustaining the handicrafts sector.
