JAMMU, Jan 31: MBBS student, Shriya Sharma was felicitated by Principal and Dean, GMC Jammu, Dr. Ashutosh Gupta on successful completion of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)-Short Term Studentship (STS) project entitled ‘Physical Psychosocial and Economic Wellbeing of Caregivers during COVID-19 Pandemic and its impact on developmental milestones of children (6-30 months): A cross-sectional study’.
The project was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Bhavna Langer, Associate Professor at Department of Community Medicine.
The research paper was selected by ICMR under excellent category and Shriya Sharma received prize of Rs. 50,000 along with certificate from ICMR. Dr. Rajiv K Gupta, Professor and Head Department of Community Medicine GMC Jammu supported in the completion of the study and was also a co-author in the study. Other co-authors were Dr. Koushal K Khajuria (Associate Professor, Pediatrics), Dr. Rashmi Kumari (Associate Professor, Community Medicine) and Dr. Richa Mahajan (Assistant Professor, Community Medicine).
Research was done under ICMR STS which is an initiative that offers a research opportunity to undergraduate medical and dental students, with the primary aim to make them familiar with research methodologies, scientific writing and research ethics early in their career as physicians.
