AICC coordinator Monga chairs poll review meet

SRINAGAR, Feb 1: Ahead of Parliamentary elections, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) senior vice president and AICC designated Lok Sabha Coordinator for Baramulla constituency, GN Monga today reviewed the preparations for upcoming Lok Sabha elections at Baramulla district headquarters.
Monga was apprised about the organizational activities and various other matters pertaining to elections in the segment. During the meeting threadbare discussions with the PCC/DCC office bearers of Baramulla were held. He took stock of the preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
AICC Coordinator told the participants that democratic process is a key to development and prosperity, which has to be strengthened in the larger interest of the public and the institutions benefitting them directly.
Monga told the meeting that reaching out to the public should be one among our great endeavours and seek their full support to ensure Congress Party’s victory while exhorting the participants to get involved in election activities at booth level in the district.
“Congress alone is capable of protecting people’s rights and serving them without any discrimination,” Monga said and emphasized the party cadre of North Kashmir to remain vigilant about the conspiracies and designs of BJP sponsored parties who are out to divide people for the votes even after pushing J&K towards darkness on every count.
AICC Coordinator expressed serious concern over the lack of development, peak unemployment and various other socio and political issues concerning public. He said apart from conducting Lok Sabha elections, ECI should also hold Assembly elections to ensure that people of J&K elect their representatives and enjoy the fruits of democracy.
Monga claimed that Congress will perform better in the upcoming Lok Sabha and other elections in J&K. He expressed confidence and further exhorted the Party leaders to finalize the appointment of booth level agents and also scrutinize the electoral rolls of both Panchayat and Assembly elections, so that necessary measures are taken at right earnest.
Baramulla DCC president Irshad Ahmad Budoo and various other leaders also spoke on the occasion.
