JAMMU, Feb 1: Police in Gangyal area here claimed today they have arrested a notorious land grabber of the area and booked him under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA).
A police spokesperson said that information was received at Police Station Gangyal regarding one Surjeet Singh alias Sonu of Sehora, Tehsil Bishnah, District Jammu, who was evading his arrest in multiple cases, including those of cheating, criminal trespass, violation of arms rules, fraud, land grabbing etc.
According to him, an arrest warrant against the accused under the PSA was also issued by the concerned authorities.
Executing the arrest warrant today, a special team of Police Station Gangyal led by Inspector Jaswinder Singh, SHO Gangyal, under the supervision of ASP Kartik Shrotriya, SDPO Gandhi Nagar, arrested the absconder, and shifted him to the Central Jail, Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.
