KISHTWAR, Feb 2: District Administration Kishtwar, led by Deputy Commissioner (DC), Dr. Devansh Yadav today started an anti-encroachment operation at Bus Stand and market areas along highway.
The operation was launched in collaboration with officials from Revenue Department, Municipality and was assisted by Police and public spaces were freed from illegally installed stalls and Reharis.
During operation, encroachment on footpaths was removed and goods displayed outside shops at public spaces were confiscated. Violators were given Challans and notices with a stern warning to refrain from encroaching footpaths and roads.
The anti-encroachment operation was launched to seize vegetables, fruits and temporary decorative materials from the front of business establishments.
The team of district administration also checked the licenses of roadside Reharis and fined those without valid permissions. Auto rickshaw operators were advised to park only at authorized stands ensuring smooth traffic flow.
The drive, spanning over an hour, resulted in the removal of seized goods by the district administration for further necessary actions.
Later on, DC Kishtwar held productive dialogue with representatives from Traders Associations/Beopar Mandal Kishtwar, business owners and Khoka and Rehadi Walas and the meeting focused on addressing grievances of shopkeepers, hawkers and street vendors who shared their concerns with the DC and the DC Kishtwar promptly redressed their grievances.
He stressed on initiatives to enhance market landscape, free the congestion and encroachments from footpaths.
Emphasizing on the importance of creating a conducive environment, the DC advocated for the shifting of Hawkers and Rehari Walas at the newly designated Vending Place situated on a place Hadda Pond.
The DC highlighted the necessity of initiatives like Vendor Places and Food Court at Dak Banglow Kishtwar to provide support to vendors of the region.
