DODA, Feb 2: Police here today booked a notorious drug peddler Mehraj Din, son of Abdul Latief, resident of Masjid Mohalla, Bhaderwah under PIT NDPSA for his active involvement in illicit trafficking of narcotic substances and lodged him in District Jail Bhaderwah under the order passed by Divisional Commissioner Jammu.
In a handout Doda Police stated that activities of the peddler were highly detrimental and serious threat to the society and he was involved in a number of FIRs registered at different Police Stations of Doda and also outside the District at Bahu Fort Jammu under relevant sections of NDPS Act.
“His detention under PITNDPSA will definitely act as deterrence to the criminals and narco-smugglers still at large and will also save precious lives of a number of innocent youth,” the Police handout maintained.
