JAMMU, Feb 3: The Director General of Police, J&K, R R Swain, today inaugurated a daylong free cancer screening/health check-up camp at DPL Ground, Jammu.
Organised by Police Hospital in collaboration with the American Oncology Institute, the event also marked the unveiling of three new ambulances for the hospital by the DGP.

The DGP praised the collaboration between Police Hospital Jammu and AOI, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to caring for its personnel. Recognizing the challenge of cancer, the DGP applauded AOI for their role in the fight against the disease.
Expressing gratitude to the organizers, he emphasized the importance of health professionals in addressing the challenges posed by cancer.
The DGP conveyed his dedication to nurturing the collaboration between Police Hospital and AOI, urging the effort to be taken to its logical conclusion.
The day-long camp offered mammograms, oral screenings, PAP smears, PSA tests, and routine blood investigations. Super-specialized mobile vans, along with medical specialists and nursing staff, provided on-site services alongside the doctors from Police Hospital.
The primary objectives of the camp included raising awareness about cancer and promoting preventive healthcare measures. Attendees had access to a range of healthcare services, from general check-ups to consultations and screenings.
Doctors from AOI, including Dr Neeraj Bishnoi, Dr Satyanker Gupta, Dr Deepak Abrol, and Dr Surbhi Kudyar, along with Police Hospital’s medical staff, conducted screenings and health checkups during the camp.
Three new ambulances were flagged off for Police Hospital Jammu, with the DGP personally inspecting the facilities within.
During his tour of the hospital, he visited various sections and emphasized the provision of optimum facilities for police families.
Dr Meenakshi Kotwal, the Medical Superintendent of Police Hospital, briefed the DGP on available facilities and initiatives supporting police personnel.
Senior officers, including Special DG Crime J&K, A K Choudhary; ADGP headquarters, M K Sinha; IGP (Headquarters) PHQ, BS Tuti, were present at the event.
