One killed, 9 injured in road accidents

POONCH, Feb 3: One person was killed while nine others injured in separate road accidents in Poonch district today.
One person was killed and four others injured in a collision between Minibus and Tata Magic Auto at Gundi in Poonch district this evening.
Official sources said that a mini-bus bearing registration number JK12-1385 was on its way from Poonch towards Mandi and an auto (Tata Magic) bearing registration number JK12B-7247 was moving in an opposite direction. When they reached near Gundi, both collided with each other. The eye witnesses said that the auto was overtaking the other vehicle when accident occurred . The Auto driver was killed while four others were injured in the mishap.
The injured wedre removed to District Hospital Poonch. Medical Superintendent Dr. Zulfiqar Ali said that one person was brought dead, whose body was handed over to family after legal formalities, while four injured were treated and kept under observation in DH Poonch.
Deceased was identified as Mukhtar Ahmed, son of Mohd Bashir, resident of Nangali, while injured persons as Zulfiqar Ahmed, son of Ghulam Mohammad, resident of Chakatro; Manzoor Ahmed, son of Ahad Joo, resident of Barachar; Altaf Ahmed, son of Muzamil Shah, resident of Nangali and Bashir Ahmed, son of Abdul Satar, resident of Kankote.
Station House Officer, Insp. Deepak Pathania said that a case under sections 279, 337 and 304-A IPC has been registered in Police Station Poonch.
In yet another accident in Jarran Wali Gali area of Surankote Sub Division, in Poonch five persons were injured today.
Official sources said that the accident took place at about 12:30 PM when a Sumo, bearing registration number JK12-2529, moving from the Jarran Wali Gali side towards Surankote, collided with an Alto car, bearing registration No. JK12B-7018, coming from the opposite direction. Five persons travelling in both the vehicles were injured in the mishap and later shifted to Sub District Hospital, Surankote.
BMO Surankote, Dr Mohd Yousuf said that three among the five injured were shifted to GMC Rajouri for advanced treatment, two others were treated here, while the condition of all five injured was stable.
Injured were identified as Nadeem Ahmed, son of Ashfaq Ahmed; Tofeeq Ahmed, son of Mohd Ayoub; Toqeer Ahmed, son of Mohd Ayoub; Ibrat Begum, wife of Ghulam Rasool and Halima Bi, daughter of Habib-ur-Rehman.
Station House Officer Surankote, Insp Rajesh Thappa said that we rushed to the spot after the incident, while a case under relevent sections has been registered in this regard and investigation was taken up.
