BCC Bishnah, DSS youth activists stage protest

JAMMU, Feb 10: The youth activists of Block Congress Committee (BCC) Bishnah and Dogra Saddar Sabha today took out protest march towards Civil Secretariat but it was foiled by police.
A large number of youth activists of BCC and DSS led Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, incharge youth wing of the DSS assembled at Dogra Hall and held strong protest demonstration demanding Sub Divisional status for Bishnah. They were also shouting slogans in support of their other demands.
As the protesters were moving towards Civil Secretariat, the strong contingent of police and para-military forces stopped them near Dogra Hall petrol pump and foiled their march. They resisted police action but were not allowed to move ahead. The youth activists had called for conducting `gherao’ of State Assembly today. Mr Charak extended gratitude to Government for according Tehsil and CD Block status to Arnia but demanded that Bishnah be upgraded as Sub Division. He also demanded most needed facilities at Degree College Bishnah including own building, Lab, Library, College and ITI at Arnia and special recruitment drive for the people of this border belt.
Prominent among others accompanying them included Sarpanch Surjit Singh, Mehar Singh, Surinder, Satish Sharma, Shivnandan and Rohit Dubey.
