Wani reviews progress on developmental projects

JAMMU, Feb 10: Minister for Roads & Buildings and Mechanical Engineering, Abdul Majid Wani today chaired a high level meeting of officers review the pace of construction work on various developmental projects being executed under R&B, PMGSY and JKPCC sectors in the State.
Addressing the meeting, the Minister stressed upon the concerned to expedite the pace of construction work on the developmental projects to ensure their timely completion. He asked for early start of the work on the allotted projects, saying that timely commencement would help to avoid cost escalation and early benefits to the people. He also directed the concerned to prioritize the projects of public importance while projecting the new proposals. He asked for timely production of Utilization Certificates to the concerned quarters so that balance funds are released in time.
The Minister also sought first hand appraisal of the snow clearance situation from the roads in the valley and other snowbound areas of the state.
Among others, Commissioner Secretary, Roads & Buildings Tanveer Jehan, Development Commissioner, Works, Hamal, Managing Director, JKPCC T R Bhagat, Chief Engineer, R&B Jammu, Abdul Hamid Sheikh, Chief Engineer, R&B Kashmir, Mustaq Ahmad and Chief Engineer, PMGSY, Jammu and Kashmir division were present in the meeting.
