DIPR hosts Symposium cum Cultural program on ‘Uses, abuses of social media’

JAMMU, Feb 5: Cultural Unit, Department of Information and Public Relations, Jammu today organised a Symposium cum Cultural program on the topic “Uses and abuses of social media” at Government Mixed Hr. Sec. School (Bakshi Nagar) Camp Durga Nagar Jammu. The objective behind organizing the event was to educate the young generation regarding the uses and abuses of social media.
The students presented valuable information on the topic, highlighting the bright and dark aspects of Social Media.
Students were judged on parameters of Pronunciation, Modulation of Voice, Factual Representation, confidence etc.
Sanjana Ganjoo, Ravi Raina and Sunita Dhar were the Judges for the day.
A total number of 10 students participated in the competition. First Position was bagged by Kashvi Pandita, Second Position was secured by Aren Suri, Third Position was secured by Vedanshi Khajuria.
Later, the Artists of Cultural Wing of Information Department Jammu presented a colorful Cultural program which was highly appreciated by students and staff of the school.
Speaking on the occasion Principal of the School, Shiv Kumar Pandita educated the students regarding the topic and appreciated the Department of Information & Public Relations for organising such a meaningful event in the school. Among others present were Principal Sanjay Pandita, Principal Bharat Bhushan Pandita Staff members and large number students witnessed the programme.
The whole program conducted under the supervision of Cultural Officer Jammu, Nasir Ahmed Khan.
