JAMMU, Feb 6: As the much awaited work on Rajouri- Thannamandi- Surankote road started, everyone was expecting that the work will be completed shortly and people will have sigh of relief but there is no proper traffic management on the road and regular traffic jam is routine affair at this stretch.
The public is suffering badly as at number of places heavy traffic jams can be seen from Darhal Morh to Rajouri as passengers remain stuck in jams for hours . The agency- Dharam Raj Constructions Company haven’t done work properly moreover there is no traffic police to regulate the traffic.
This is the only road link between Thannamandi and Rajouri and patients are worst sufferers as they have to wait for hours which adds to their miseries. Patients and employees are the worst sufferers as they have to wait for hours in traffic jams daily but from last several months Dharam Raj Construction company isn’t doing work properly and adding to the suffering of public, There was about 5 hours long jam in the area and people remained stranded for long.
Since there are clear guidelines written in the agreement regarding the maintenance of road during construction but the company is least bothered about that and is not taking the issue of suffering of public seriously.
The people demanded that Dharam Raj Construction Company must be directed to make necessary arrangements for movement of traffic as the continued public suffering can’t be compromised and Govt must take some legal action against such negligent and irresponsible construction company as they failed to complete the work within time
