KP leaders call on Relief, Rehabilitation Commissioner

JAMMU, Feb 6: A delegation of prominent socio-political leaders of Kashmiri Pandit community from all  camps and non camps of Jammu called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants) J&K, Dr. Arvind Karwani here, today to discuss the genuine problems being faced by migrants. The delegation was led by M.K Yogi senior KP leader.
Yogi apprised Commissioner who assumed office few days back of the problems of the community and demanded enhancement of monthly cash assistance from Rs. 13000 to Rs. 25000, allotment of accommodation to package employees working in Valley who live on rented accommodations , implementation of  migrant immovable Property Act 1997 in letter and spirit,  construction of more quarters in Jammu for migrants living on rent.
Yogi appealed the officer to seriously take up all these issues with Lt. Governor J&K for early resolution.
Pintoo Ji, Ashwani Bhat and Tej Dhar other KP activists apprised the Commissioner about the genuine problems being faced by the community in exile and demanded formation of a concrete- time bound rehabilitation policy for Kashmiri Pandits in Valley,  creation of new ten thousand posts in different departments for educated unemployed migrant youth.
They appealed him to take up these important issues with the concerned higher ups for early resolution being the nodal agency of migrants.
Dr T. K. Bhat, Vinod Pandita and Vishal Jotshi socio political activists demanded better provisions of regular supply of drinking water, electricity in all camps in Jammu, internal repairs of quarters, allotment of 130 shops to deserving people in Jagti, adequate supply of medicines in Jagti Hospital, maintenance of inter link roads, parks etc in Jagti township, releasing of withheld three hundred ration cards etc.
Dr. Romesh Bhat, Ashok Dhar, S.L.Koul, B.L.Dhar, Anil Bhan, Vijay Kumar Mahajan, Ashok Sumbli, Ram Rattan and others  highlighted the problems of Muthi and Purkhoo migrant camps and demanded their immediate redressal.
Dr. Riyaz Ahmed  and Ritika Arora ACs Relief were also present in the meeting.
