KATHUA, Feb 7: Authorities here today demolished an illegal structure built over the State land.
Sources said that a huge chunk of the Khad land at Chak Riju area of Kathua District was encroached upon by a powerful land mafia, originally from Punjab, with the connivance of local mafia.
They said a construction was also being raised over the encroached upon land by the mafia.
But soon after the locals got to know about the illegal construction, they informed authorities and accordingly a revenue team led by Tehsildar Kathua reached at the spot and demolished the illegal structure.
