KISHTWAR, Feb 8: A double storey residential house was gutted in a devastating fire incident in Hangarna village, Tehsil Mughal Maidan of Sub Division Chatroo last night and many cattle were burnt alive in the fire.
The ill fated residential house belonged to one Mushtaq Ahmed, son of Ghulam Hussain.
As per reports, fire was caused due to short circuit and it inflicted massive damage to the residential structure and the house hold items there.
Though there was no human loss in the blaze but a cow shed there was damaged badly and cattle including two buffaloes, six cows, three calves, three bulls, six sheep and one horse were burnt alive.
The area lacks road connectivity and fire tenders could not reach the spot for rescue operation but the efforts of the locals with limited resources helped in timely controlling the blaze.
