SRINAGAR Feb 11: As police fails to arrest the former Health Minister Shabir Ahmad Khan for attempt to molest a lady doctor, the anger is growing in the Valley against Government’s inaction.
After medicos, the Valley’s academicians also condemned the Government for failing to arrest Khan. Doctors who had given 24-hours ultimatum to the Government to arrest the accused Minister today announced a series of protests over the failure of the police in nabbing him.
Joint Amalgam of Doctors and Paramedics (JADP) today said that all the doctors and paramedical employees in the Government-run hospitals and health centers will wear black bands on Wednesday as a mark of protest over the Government’s failure to arrest Khan.
“If the Government failed to arrest Shabir Khan by Wednesday, we have decided to suspend the work on Thursday in all the hospitals and health centers of the Valley except the emergency services,” said Dr. Qazi Haroon, the spokesperson of JADP.
