Dr Tariq Azad appointed DPAP’s MF Wing convenor

JAMMU, Feb 9: Dr Tariq Parvez Azad – a prominent Surgeon, founder Principal of Government Medical College (GMC) Doda, former president of Medical Teachers Association GMC Jammu and former president of J&K Chapter of Association of Surgeons of India – has been appointed as convenor of Medical Fraternity (MF) Wing of Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) in the State.
The Medical Fraternity Wing of DPAP was announced by the Party chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad. This wing shall comprise of all retired and non-governmental Medical/ Dental/Ayush doctors, physiotherapists and paramedics including nurses, pharmacists, Degree cum Diploma holders of Allied Paramedical subjects and Food/Drug/Sanitary Inspectors.
Dr Tariq Parvez Azad has a vast administrative and organizational experience in the medical field. He has been instrumental in taking up core and vital issues of the medical fraternity with the successive governments in the past and got them successfully implemented, which included enhancement of retirement age of faculty, implementation of MCI recommendations in the State, and streamlining the promotions of faculty and paramedical staff through regular DPCs.
