SAMBA, Feb 9: Samba Police has foiled yet another bovine smuggling attempt, arrested bovine smuggler, rescued five bovines and seized vehicle in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal.
A police party of Police Station, Ghagwal during vehicle checking duty at naka NHW Tapyal, intercepted a Mahindra Bolero Pickup bearing registration Number JK08L-8127 coming from Kathua side for checking. During checking of the vehicle, five bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission.
The bovine smuggler identified as Kamal Kumar, son of Manohar Lal of Khanpur, Pathankot (Punjab) has been arrested.
A case FIR No. 16/2024 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act, has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
