JAMMU, Feb 9: A meeting of Kisan Mazdoor Union (KMU), affiliated to Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) was held here today under the chairmanship of KMU president, Rakesh Kumar Thakur.
Speakers in the meeting demanded minimum wages for the workers working for power projects like Kiru, Kawar, Dangduru and Pakal Dul.
They said that management of Power Projects was not adhering to the norms settled for local employment in these projects.
During meeting, Balwan Singh from Jay Pee Power Project was nominated as the working president of Kisan Mazdoor Union.
Harbans Choudhary, working president, Ashok Kumar Choudhary, organising secretary BMS, general secretary of KMU Naseeb Singh, Angat Singh, Gian Singh, Kashmir Lal, Janu Parihar, Rahul Singh, Badal Parihar, Balwan Singh, Shadhi Lal, Jatinder Kumar, Atal Kumar, Roshan Lal, Bittu Kumar, Piayra Lal, Falel Singh, Ravi Kant, Pardeep Bhagat, Ashok Kumar Rana, Naseeb Singh and Kewal Kumar were also present in the meeting
