REASI, Feb 11: A pedestrian was knocked to death by a speeding bus on Reasi-Katra Road at Serwad, here this morning.
According to Police, the deceased was identified as Raj Kumar (52), son of Finnu, resident of Butan Katra, who died on the spot after being hit by passenger bus, bearing registration number JK02AK-5679, this morning around 8.30 a.m.
Even as driver of the bus fled from spot after the accident, Police team led by SHO Katra, Inspector Nishant Gupta, apprehended him after a hunt.
Police also shifted the dead body to CHC Katra and after postmortem, it was handed over to family members of the deceased, who was a labourer. A case in this connection has been registered at Police Station Katra.
