JAMMU, Feb 11: Three persons were arrested for an airline ticket fraud at Jammu Airport here today.
Air passengers Balwinder Kumari, Ravi Kumar, and Master Niraj sold their air tickets to as many people identified as Jeena and Charanjit Singh of Gurdaspur, and Kuldeep Kumar of Kathua.
In order to match their identities with that of the sellers (of tickets), the buyers affixed their photos on the photocopies of the Aadhar cards of the formers, with an intention to fly outside Jammu.
Their plan, however, was foiled by a team of Police Station Satwari led by SHO concerned, Inspector Sumeet Sharma, who reached at the spot and prevented the trio from entering the premises of the Jammu Airport.
“We have arrested all the accused and booked them in case FIR number 29/2024 under sections 419/420/467/468/471 IPC registered at Police Station Satwari,” SHO Satwari, Inspector Sumeet Sharma told the Excelsior.
He said further investigation into the case is underway.
